ASL 102 Midterm

My video quality is terrible but here is my 3 min video about the mer-people. I am not sure that I understand what to write for the essay either. But here is my attempt.

Essay:

I know a lot of the signs I used were made up and a lot of them ended up not being seen cause they were low. I look back at videos from before and realized that I sign quicker, smoother, and more confident. I was able to use the signs that showed which mer-person I was talking about as well as the order of the person in that picture. I didn't know the sign for tail so I kind of made it up/described it then fingerspelled it.

I feel like I am doing this assignment completely wrong but this is the best I can think of. I really don't understand the essay part of the assignment...

Finally able to get my computer working...

I hate trying to do the videos. For some reason I feel like I am doing them all wrong so I have been putting them off. I finally figured out how to get them on here though so I am going to try. It is also hard since I have a 2 year old. This last week we didn't have a class due to the holiday and then I was really sick on Wednesday so I didn't go. On the videos can I post ones of me and my son and me teaching him? I need to ask Carl about that. This week other than being sick, I have been looking into planning how to get my sign language interpretation certificate. I found out there is a rather large need for interpreters in the Portland area and even in our school

Compare and Contrast

After about 6 hours trying to get this sent to Professor Carl I finally got the crappiest of all of the videos I did uploaded. I have had such a hard time uploading any videos. By this point I was just frustrated so the content of my video is not near as good as my first videos.

First attempt at 3 minutes free-signing 10/08/2012. Time went by a lot quicker here at home than it did in the classroom where I felt more pressured. I did not have 3 min worth of words though, there was a lot of time where I had no words.
